A masthead rather than a navigation bar — squared corners, no background, no shadow, and a single hairline along the bottom edge only, which is what the sides argument on the bar is for. The wordmark takes no icon plate because a journal's name is the mark. Bottom padding on the bar rather than the shell puts the rule clear of the type instead of hugging it.
