Two ways into the same data side by side: the Event Calendar element bound to an event post type with its own date fields, and a hand-written seven-day rail for people who would rather scan than click. The calendar's empty-day message points at the list rather than apologising, and the rail's rows are ruled rather than boxed so the two halves read as one object.
