Made in one

workshop, by

eleven people.

Every pair is lasted, closed and finished under one roof, and every pair can be resoled for as long as you own it.
THE MAKING

Two hundred and eight operations.

Most of them by hand, none of them interesting to watch on their own, all of them the reason the shoe lasts.
01
Clicking
The hide is cut by eye, not by press, so the grain runs the right way over the vamp.
02
Closing
Uppers are stitched, skived and lined. This is the slowest bench in the building.
03
Lasting
The upper is pulled over a wooden last and left three weeks to take its shape.
04
Making
Welt stitched to insole and upper, sole stitched to welt. Nothing glued that matters.

“I bought a pair in 2009 for a wedding. They have been resoled four times and I still wear them on Mondays.”

Come and be measured.

The workshop shop is open four days a week, and a fitting takes about forty minutes.
